Administrative/Employment Defense
Kasey is a PORAC Legal Defense Fund (LDF) panel attorney and a California Correctional Supervisors’ Organization (CCSO) panel attorney. As such, she handles all manners of administrative disciplinary cases, from interrogation through appeal, and law enforcement CCW denial appeals. Kasey’s meticulous approach to her cases has resulted in the overturning or mitigation of numerous suspensions, demotions, and terminations at arbitration or State Personnel Board hearings. She handles the case from initial investigation through writ of mandate. Kasey also handles license decertification and revocation matters from investigation through hearing for first- responders, teachers, and medical professionals. Criminal Defense from DUI to Murder
Kasey’s primary focus is the criminal defense of peace officers, including those facing state and federal prosecution and criminal and civil grand juries. Kasey often responds to police officer-involved shootings, major uses of force, and in-custody deaths. She also takes other select felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, including DUI and criminal conviction expungements. Kasey’s former career as a prosecutor yielded life sentences, and now she uses that knowledge for defense. Kasey personally handles each case from investigation to arraignment, negotiations through preliminary hearing, jury trial, and sentencing, if necessary.
CCW Defense and Training
Kasey is also proud to protect the rights of those who concealed carry as a panel attorney for the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA). Kasey often gives legal updates and provides training seminars to CCW classes. She is a sought-after legal representative for those who concealed carry.
General Counsel
Kasey also represents numerous police associations as their general counsel including in the areas of grievance arbitrations, policy negotiations, meet and confer issues, Fitness for Duty assessments, and Brady appeals. Non-Profit Formation/Compliance

One of Kasey’s passions is teaching, and she frequently provides training to police associations and law enforcement agencies on legal updates, the Peace Officers’ Bill of Rights, Brady and Pitchess. In 2011, she was bestowed the honor of Academic Faculty of the Year for the College of Criminal Justice and Security for Southern California as an instructor at the University of Phoenix. She has taught bachelor’s degree courses in criminal law, criminal procedure, criminal courts, ethics, juvenile justice, and interpersonal communications in law enforcement. Kasey often provides legal training and updates to CCW holders, as well as to security firms.
Kasey graduated Cum Laude from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree with distinction in criminal justice and a minor in journalism. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law, where she received the CALI Award for top honors in Evidence and Legal Research and Writing. She challenged herself and made it through school in two and a half years and passed the Bar before she graduated with her class.
Kasey is especially proud to be a founding and current board member of the Inland Empire Blue Belles, a Sisterhood of Support for law enforcement agencies in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. She is also a founder and current board member of the Canyon Lake Enrichment Activities & Recreation (C.L.E.A.R.) Foundation, which brings outdoor activities highlighting teamwork and good judgment to Canyon Lake, California youth. She is also a board member (Governance) for the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild.
Kasey has been a member of the City of Canyon Lake, California city council since 2018, where she has served as council member, mayor, and mayor pro tem. She is currently a city council member, and a member of the Public Safety Committee and the articulation committee for the local school district. She enjoys spending time with her family, often cheering on her football and baseball-playing sons.

From law enforcement officer to law firm administrator/paralegal, Katie has the experience, knowledge, and passion to serve clients well. Katie provides support on all firm legal matters. Prior to joining the firm, Katie worked as a sworn police officer at a Southern California law enforcement agency for more than ten years. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from National University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino. Katie earned professional certificates in Private Investigation and Paralegal Studies; she is also a certified notary public, a licensed Private Investigator, and a Certified Law Student by the California State Bar. Katie is in her third year at Trinity Law School, pursuing a Juris Doctorate (JD). She is ranked in the top 7% of her class and has received honors for obtaining the highest grade in Torts, Contracts, Legal Research and Writing, and Contracts Drafting. Katie plans to sit for the California Bar Exam in February 2026.
When she is not in the office, Katie serves as adjunct faculty at Fullerton College and teaches courses in Police Report Writing and Intro to Criminal Justice. Katie also serves as a Board Member for the Inland Empire Blue Belles and previously served as Board Member/Secretary for Heart Christian Academy. In her free time, Katie enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, camping at the beach, and cooking without recipes.
LAW CLERK | PARALEGAL
John, a dedicated legal professional, is a Certified Law Clerk with extensive experience in research, writing, and contract review. With an array of experience in personal injury, contract, criminal, mediation, and property law, John brings valuable skills to our legal team. His professional journey includes contract review, law and motion practices, appellate brief writing, and case management. His most recent assignment as a PTLS Certified Law Clerk with the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, equipped him with oral advocacy skills to help defend those requiring justice.
John is a third-year law student, pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) from Trinity Law School, where he is ranked in the top 15% of his class. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Legal Studies & Advocacy from Southern New Hampshire University, where he earned presidential honor award. He is a member of the Federalist Society, Christian Legal Society, and acts as Certified Neutral Mediator. John plans to sit for the California Bar Exam in February 2026.
